In Seventeen Magazine there was a new article that sparked a lot of controversy. The issue: girls having guns. The article stated that girls shouldn't have guns because it is dangerous, it isn't "girly" and that it doesn't seem right for girls to own guns. The article's feedback was from two points of view. Girls stated the reasons why it's ok to own guns, while other girls objected the idea. Some girls think it isn't a bad idea because it keeps them safe, they like to hunt, and it gives them a sense of security. Other girls think that it isn't safe for girls, or anyone to have guns. They think that because of all the shootings that occur throughout the year, it's getting more dangerous for people to have guns because they are using them carelessly.
My Response:
About every day close to 250 people get killed or wounded by a gun shot. Unfortunately this is too high of a number for everyday. I think that either way no one should really have a gun for their personal use. People say it's for protection, or for hunting, but it turns out that a lot of people who have it for those reasons end up doing a lot of damage. I think that whether it is a girl or guy, guns should be out of sight.
Yes, and if someone gets hold of it, he could use it against the girl too. Too dangerous, I say.
